  • How to get started

If a student is late, how long should you wait for them before leaving?

If the student has a 30 minute lesson, you need to wait for at least 20 minutes to see if they are going to show.  They are paying for the time and you are getting paid for the no show.

If the student has an hour lesson scheduled you should wait for at least 40 minutes. If the student doesn’t show for the first half hour they may still show for the second half hour if they got their times mixed up or are just running really late.  If they don’t show after 40 minutes they usually aren’t going to be there.  If they do show say after 45 minutes and you have left we will owe them whatever time they had left (15 min. in this example) and will need to tack that on to a future lesson.  You won’t get paid for that extra 15min as you will have already been paid for it when you left early.
